The human side of climate change

The Guardian has the following conundrum:
Changing behaviour will be as vital as new technologies in tackling climate change. So where is the funding for linguists, anthropologists and sociologists?
Indeed (and we might add psychologists to the list).

A case in point is the research recently carried out by Dell, showing that people in Britain recycle less electrical equipment than other European countries. I can think of many reasons why but it appears no one has yet done the research to find out what they are. The recycling manager from Dell commented 'we need to find out what happens to the equipment after they [the recipients] are finished with them.' I think there are many researchers who could help her find out.
