Gestalten in dynamic information displays

The Rosling family enterprise, interviewed by Bill Moggridge as part of his Designing Media series, discuss how they design dynamic graphic information displays. They describe how they use movement to give 'visual cohesion' to changing demographic patterns. Reminds me of Gunnar Johansson's studies (dating back to the 1970s) of Gestalt phenomena in visual perception of motion (alas no videos available to link to).
