Ethnographic research in lights
May be a first for a manufacturing CEO to incorporate a user researcher into a keynote speech. But this was Nokia (at CES in Las Vegas) (slides and commentary via Engadget), and the researcher was Jan Chipchase who, along with colleagues, has pushed back some frontiers in user research as Nokia builds its influence in developing markets. (Younghee Jung has presented some of the techniques they have used to access user experience where standard observation isn't possible.)
