Generation C

Possibly slightly hyped report of ethnographic research for mobile phone operator 3 on the impact of 3G services (thanks to Richard for link). The research group, Future Laboratory, have labelled people using 3G services for video telephony and documenting their lives (for example by capturing pictures and downloading them to blogs) as Generation C (for content). The report doesn't give much idea of how prevalent this user profile really is...

...but clearly the Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum thinks there's something in it. They have announced a project, inspired by Wikipedia and photosharing sites such as Flickr, that will enable people to surf the museum collection on-line and create their own virtual exhibitions for others to visit.
